Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering your time at Second Harvest.   We want every volunteer experience to be rewarding!  Our warehouse is an industrial food handling facility, so we must take important steps to keep everyone safe.  Therefore, we require all volunteers to:

  • Register online (see below)
  • Be at least 14 years old
  • Dress appropriately and with closed-toed shoes only
  • Sign in and wear “Volunteer” badges
  • Must be ambulatory or otherwise mobile for warehouse activities
  • Must be able to lift 20-25 lbs. for food drives and warehouse activities

The safety of our volunteers and safe food handling are our top priorities.  For that reason, Second Harvest cannot make exceptions to the requirements listed above.

Please note that the number of volunteer slots available for each opportunity is listed below.  When all of the slots for a shift or event have been taken, it will be flagged as “full”.  In addition, you will find food drives, special events and other warehouse and administrative office volunteer opportunities listed below.

If you have any questions or are looking for other ways to get involved, please call 585-3924 or email dolson@2-harvest.org

Never doubt your support makes a difference!  Thank you for being part of the solution to hunger.
